Perth Mediation and Counselling Services WA offers Attorney-General’s Department Accredited Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) for separated families, including grandparents. Mediation helps you reach workable arrangements for your children and your future, outside of court.
Putting children first
Every mediation is guided by the best interests, needs, safety and wellbeing of children and adolescents. Yvette trained in Child Inclusive Practice in 2012. Where it is appropriate, she meets with children from six years of age so their views and choices can be heard and can inform the decisions their parents make, an approach now reflected in the Family Law Act since May 2024.
Accredited and authorised
Yvette is an Accredited Senior Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, first accredited in 2009, and is authorised to issue Section 60I certificates, which are usually needed before applying to court for parenting orders. You can confirm her accreditation on the Attorney-General’s Department Family Dispute Resolution Register.
If a Family Violence Restraining Order is in place
Many mediators will not conduct mediation where a Family Violence Restraining Order exists. Yvette sees clients and facilitates FDR Mediation, with Family Violence Restraining Orders in place. Please mention it when you get in touch.
Gender-balanced co-mediation, if you prefer
Mediations are usually conducted by Yvette. If you would prefer, sessions can also be gender-balanced, with a male and a female Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner working together. Just ask about this option when you get in touch.
Fees
Fees for Mediation: $120 per hour, per client
Fee for Gender Balanced Mediation: $240 per hour, per client
Times that suit you
Sessions are available during office hours, after hours on weekdays, and on weekends. We aim to respond promptly, and there is no waiting list.
